Job Description:
* Job Title: Fabric Development Merchandiser
* Position Statement: Manage the whole process of fabric development
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing new fabrics for both woven and knits
- Looking for the fabrics to meet our US offices requirements
- Following up the lab dips/hand looms/strike offs, and sample yardages to catch development
schedules
- Evaluating color, hand feel and appearance of developments. Analyzing the quality of developments
against testing reports and specific requirements of the brands. Anticipating the potential risks for
new submitting against standards
- Communicating with external partners to have them understand our needs, lead time and quality
requirements
- Working with mill partners to get the best prices by strong communication skills, aggressive attitude
and resourceful negotiation processes
- Evaluating the performance of mills. Constantly sourcing additional and alternative suppliers.
- Keeping the records for adopted items to transfer to production offices/garment vendors once
garment orders are released
Qualification:
- Major in textile, light chemistry or dyeing
